Dr. Jessica Johnston
Dr. Jessica Johnston is a graduate of LSU School of Dentistry. After graduation, she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the V.A. Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She grew up in Monroe and attended Neville High School. Her time at Neville was spent playing varsity soccer and as a Bengal Belle. She served as student body president her senior year and was voted Miss Neville High School. She went on to attend Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where she was president of her sorority, Chi Omega. After graduation, she moved to Nashville for a year and interned for country music superstar, Toby Keith. After this exciting adventure, she decided to pursue a career in dentistry and moved to New Orleans to attend LSU Dental School. After she graduated from dental school, she moved back home to practice dentistry with her mother, Dr. Jan Bagwell. Together they were North Louisiana’s only mother-daughter dental team for 5 years. She is honored to continue leading the practice that her mother built and to continue Dr. Bagwell’s legacy.
When Dr. Johnston is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys time with her husband, Ashton and two little boys Jay Dixon and Thomas. She is an active supporter of Ouachita Parish YoungLife. Jessica has a heart for missions and frequents Honduras where she generously provides quality dental care for those with limited to no access to care. Jessica may have deep Monroe roots, but at every opportunity, she is gallivanting across the world enjoying new adventures and meeting new friends. She strives to bloom where she is planted while allowing her passions and joy to brighten as many lives as possible.
Dr. Brent Charles Alexander
Dr. Brent Charles Alexander, Jr., or Dr. BC, is a dedicated dentist based in Monroe, Louisiana, committed to helping patients achieve and maintain lifelong oral health through personalized, compassionate care.
A proud graduate of the LSU School of Dentistry, Dr. Alexander earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, where he refined his skills in both clinical and cosmetic dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Alexander served as the student government president, and was inducted into the Kell’s Honor Society and Omega Kappa Upsilon honor society. He also received the 2024 Dean’s Award and the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Award upon graduating in 2024. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Louisiana Dental Association.
Before dental school, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University, where he was actively involved in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, the LSU Pre-Dental Society, and the Interfraternity Council—developing leadership and teamwork that now inform his patient-centered approach.
Dr. BC is a proud Monroe Native and graduate of River Oaks School. In his free time, Dr. Alexander enjoys cooking, fishing, and spending time with his wife Katie, son Grey, and dog Forest. He is an avid Mardi Gras enthusiast, having spent 7 years riding and co-captaining in the New Orleans Mardi Gras Krewe of Tucks. He is happy to be back home practicing dentistry in the community he loves.
Dr. Jan T. Bagwell (Retired)
After more than 39 years of dedicated service, Dr. Jan T. Bagwell has retired from dentistry. Throughout her career, Dr. Bagwell faithfully served the Sterlington community with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. Her genuine care for patients and unwavering professionalism have left a lasting legacy that continues to inspire both colleagues and the many families she cared for over the decades. Her daughter, Dr. Jessica Johnston and Dr. Brent Charles Alexander are honored to continue her legacy.

Appointments
We kindly request all patients arrive for their appointments on time so that we can stay on schedule. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may have to reschedule your appointment so we can attend to other patients. If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, please just give us 24-hours advance notice.
Insurance & Payment Options
We require that payment be made at the time of treatment, and we will always work to make sure that you are informed of costs before you receive treatment, so you won’t be caught off-guard.
We accept cash, check, and credit (Visa, MasterCard and Discover). We also offer financing plans through CareCredit. We will work with you to determine a payment option that is right for your budget, and we also will submit your insurance claim.
